Customised Reporting Services
Customised environmental and sustainability reports and information can be produced to support audits, public enquiries and other requirements – both internal and external – to organisations.

Industry Comparison Analysis or Emissions Ranking Report
Every year we download the publicly available data for each regulatory reporting program (NPI and NGER) into our database as soon as it becomes available.
Our system then places the values against our clients’ reports, providing them with a ranking relative to their competitors and the industry standard benchmarks. We can then evaluate what this means for them.
NGER/NPI Report Review and Gap Analysis
This provides a review of a company’s previous NGER and NPI reports and conducts a gap analysis against statutory reporting obligations.
Organisational Reporting Boundaries (ORB)
The Organisational Reporting Boundaries (ORB) service includes defining, deciding, justifying, and documenting what is included and excluded from a particular environmental report. Establishing the ORB should be the first step for reporting, as incorrect boundary definition can lead to significant under or over-reporting.
The boundaries may be physical, as is the case with NPI reporting, which bound the reporting entity around a physical facility, or conceptual, like NGER reporting, which operates on operational control or legal ownership for an organisation.
Basis of Preparation (BoP)
A Basis of Preparation (BoP) describes how the reports were prepared according to the legislative requirements. The BoP is intended to act as a guide to the final reports by providing a summary and explanation of the collection and treatment of environmental and sustainability data and information used to compile the reports. This includes the reporting programmes covered, what activities were included or excluded, what data was required, where and how the data was sourced, validation of the data collected, and decisions made during the preparation of the report based on the data collected.
These areas should be identified, clarified for transparency and auditability, documented, and then reassessed each year.
Data Management
Greenbase offers environmental and sustainability data management and streamlining services aimed at increasing the reliability and completeness of the data gathered and reducing the overhead on client staff during the data collection process.
Safeguard Mechanism
The Safeguard Mechanism applies to facilities that emit over 100,000 tCO2-e. We assist facilities with their Safeguard Mechanism obligations, including advice, assessments, applications, and annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions tracking and forecasting.
Training (included with our services)
We provide basic training as part of our NPI and NGER service offerings. It covers the basic understanding needed to complete reports, such as background on the NPI and NGER programmes, how to fill in the data collection templates and how to use EnvagoTM, our proprietary environmental and sustainability reporting platform.
In-depth training on separate topics is available upon request. This includes training on reporting frameworks, streamlining of data collection, training provided to non-environmental staff, understanding individual methodologies, and audit defence, amongst others.
Facility Reviews
A review of the environmental reporting process every few years is recommended best practice. This should include reviewing operational changes, environmental reporting boundaries, emission sources, data collection processes, documentation and training.
Facility reviews can form part of this process, including working with site personnel to conduct a comprehensive review of the physical facility to confirm reporting boundaries and ensure all emission sources are identified for NPI reporting (and other applicable reporting). The data collection templates can then also be modified to reflect the updated requirements and ensure data is collected in a more efficient and accurate manner.
